These terms are written to be read. Using splitscreen means you agree to them.
splitscreen is a shared workspace where groups talk to AI models using API keys the members supply themselves (“bring your own key”). We provide the room, the budget caps, and the ledger. We are not a reseller of AI usage: your provider (Anthropic or OpenAI) bills your own account directly for every token, at your provider’s rates, with no markup from us.
By saving an API key, you authorize splitscreen to make requests with it — only within rooms you are a member of, and never past the spending caps you set. We strongly recommend keys scoped to a provider workspace with its own spending limit; that limit is enforced by your provider independently of us, and it is your responsibility to set it. You can revoke a key at any time, which stops all future use immediately.
Caps in splitscreen are enforced before every request, and every completed reply is recorded on a ledger you can inspect. Metering is based on your provider’s own usage figures. We work hard to make these numbers exact, but your provider’s bill is the authoritative record of what you owe them — not ours.
Messages you post in a room are visible to that room’s members and are included in what the AI model reads. Replies the room generates may be paid for by any member with available budget, under the sticky-payer rules explained on every project page (see “How the room pays”). Don’t put secrets in a room you wouldn’t share with its members.
Don’t use splitscreen with API keys you are not authorized to use. Don’t use it to violate your AI provider’s usage policies, to harass people, or to break the law. We may suspend accounts that do.
splitscreen is provided as-is. To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for spending on your API keys (your caps and your provider’s workspace limits are the controls), for AI-generated content, or for indirect damages. Our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from them or from your use of splitscreen will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Illinois, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
