A group chat with AI in it, for groups that need a new one.
If your group used ChatGPT group chats or Copilot Groups, splitscreen is a place to carry on: one room for everyone, and an AI any of you can ask, with the answer landing in the room for the whole group to read.
What happened
- ChatGPT group chats stopped taking new groups on 9 July 2026.
- Copilot Groups were retired by Microsoft on 18 August 2026.
If your group met in one of those, you need somewhere else to talk with each other and ask an AI together. That is what splitscreen is for.
What splitscreen is
A chat room you share with other people. Talk as you would in any group chat. When someone wants the AI, they ask it in the room: Claude, GPT or Gemini answers, everyone sees the answer, and the reply shows which model wrote it, what it cost and who paid.
What carries over
A group
A room holds everyone, with as many chats inside it as you like.
A shared AI
Anyone in the room can ask, and the answer is there for the whole group.
Invites by link
Add someone by email and they get a link. You can copy the link and send it in any app your group already uses.
What you get here
Pick the AI for each question
Ask Claude, GPT or Gemini, question by question. You are not tied to one company. What each AI can do
Everyone sees what it cost
Every answer carries its price and who paid, in the room, next to the answer, so the whole group can see where the money goes.
One person can cover the group
The room’s owner can pay for everyone’s AI, with a daily limit per person, so friends do not each need a paid AI plan. How that works
Any device, in the browser
Nothing to install. Open the room on a phone, a laptop or a tablet and pick up where the group left off.
Move your group in three steps
- Create a room. Sign up, name the room after your group, and you are in it.
- Invite by link. Add each person’s email. They get an invite link, and you can copy it and send it wherever your group talks today.
- Cover their AI, if you like. When you invite someone, tick Cover their AI and pick a daily amount. They can ask without an account with any AI company, and you are only charged when they ask.
Your old conversations stay where they were. splitscreen does not import chats from other apps, so your group starts with a fresh room.
Start with a room
Make a room, ask the AI something, and invite your group when it feels right. You can see a working room first, without an account.
