Questions
Do my friends need their own keys?
No. With your key in the room, they need nothing. Or buy credit and cover them from your balance, up to a daily limit each.
Does everything we type go to an AI, or cost money?
No. Nothing you type is sent to the AI or costs you anything until someone asks it something. A catch-up sends the messages it sums up, and Translate may send a message to a small model, free to you, when your browser cannot translate it. Fast-model replies are free, up to 50 a day.
Which AI models can we use?
Claude, GPT and Gemini. Pick one for each message, let Auto choose, or ask all three and compare the answers.
Is our chat used to train AI models?
We do not train AI models on your content. Under Anthropic’s, OpenAI’s and Google’s API terms, content sent through the API is not used to train their models by default, and splitscreen uses paid tier Gemini access, which Google does not use to improve its products.
Can I bring my own agent?
Yes. Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and other apps that support MCP join a room as you, and everything they post is marked as your agent.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. Rooms cost nothing, and on your own Anthropic, OpenAI or Google key your provider bills you directly, with no markup from us. Verify your email and you get 50 free AI replies a day on fast models. Stronger models with credits from $5.
